Overclocking Ryzen 3 using A320 Motherboards?

Hi there,

It's time to upgrade my old system, but right now my budget is limited. I got myself the Pentium G4620 with the H270 motherboard but I am not happy with it because I do more than just gaming.

I was checking out the AM4 chipsets and noticed that the A320 supports no overclocking, yet there are motherboards out there like the MSI A320M Bazooka that has a 6 phase power system and heatsinks on the VRMs. I also downloaded the motherboard manual and it says "This motherboard supports overclocking" so I am confused?

There is no much info on this so I decided to ask for help. Can anyone tell me if I can get by with a motherboard like this? I would like some overclocking for the Ryzen 3 1300x. I know most will suggest to step up to the B350, and I might, but I am also curious about the overclocking possibilities of the MSI A320M Bazooka.

Thanks!

You cannot overclock Ryzen on an a320 motherboard. Maybe the manual was referring to memory overclocking? You can overclock your memory using the a320 chipset. There might be some 'hacks' for overclocking with the a320 but it's really not worth it since b350 motherboards are like 10 or 15$ more.

TheAK Cube said you cannot overclock on the A320 Bazooka board, yes you can indeed overclock the ram and there is a voltage option and a cpu option to overclock even win 10 shows if you check under this computer's properties it shows 4.oGhz i know this i have such a board. strangely enough it shows up in cpuZ and aida64 as between 3.5Ghz and 3.8Ghz it doesnt stick to one number. so now my Question is, is there other software i could use to make sure of the real overclock? and why is it possible to change the cpu frequency?

You didn't answer the question.
Folks, if you don't have a viable solution, or at the very least a suggestion, then feel free to just keep moving on.
