This is happening to my desktop when it is wired in to the modem. I will start my computer, and I would open up steam and play any multiplayer game. After a few minutes the connection would be lost and then found. This will continue to happen for about an hour and then the connections is fine. So I started to just go ham on fixing this issue, from restarting and up dating the modem to using TronScript to clean my computer. It still persist. I have even gone as so far as setting my computers DNS server address and IP and this issues still occurs. The interesting thing is that I have not noticed any issues when devices are connected via wifi. I run a 75ft cable from the modem to the computer. I have not hooked anything else via wired to see if it is just the cable. But I am at a loss what to do next.

Please have some patience....

No need to "bump" your posts.

Narrow things down:

Try hooking up something else to see if it is the cable.

Try another known working Ethernet cable.

Modem/router: try another LAN port. Update the firmware.

Are you using a built-in motherboard Ethernet adapter, a PCI-x based Ethernet adapter, or USB wired Ethernet adapter?

If possible swap adapters with known working adapters. Reseat PCI based Ethernet adapters.
