Hi guys,
My 8pin atx cpu power connector of my Corsair GS600 psu is melted.

Can I use other peripheral power connectors to power my cpu via converter cables or do I have to buy a new psu?
Converter cables:

http://m.ebay.com/itm/Dual-Molex-LP4-4-Pin-to-8-Pin-PCI-E-Express-Converter-Adapter-Power-Cable-Wire/222359694024

My CPU: AMD Phenom X4 955 BE 3.2Ghz

Thanks in advance.

Also I can not confirm the newegg adapter, but the ebay one will not work because that is for PCIe 8 pin connectors. All of the 8pin cpu adapters I've ever seen have a 4pin + Molex to 8pin for CPU, and since your 4pin melted up, you will have to replace your PSU

Update: The newegg one will work because it is 8 pin EPS (for the CPU). As long as it is only molex, this may work, but I would not trust your power supply.

I've personally never seen this before, so I am unsure. This may just be bad luck because Corsair is a good brand. In my system I use Corsair power supply, liquid cooler, RAM, and case fans. I've worked in their cases as well and they are nice. If I were getting a replacement, I would go with a more efficient one, as the gs600 is 80 plus, Id recommend getting an 80 plus Gold or better psu if your budget allows.
