Hi all
ive tried to serach, but nothing seems to match exactly what i want

I am looking to OC my AMD rig , but, also keep the power throttled down when not being used as i leave it on most of the time.
I dont need any extreme OC, just a light touch is fine.
but, i get confused with the BIOS.

When i first got it, i changed the clock ratio, and it had been running around 4.2
but, the fan sounded like it was running hard to often.
So, recently, i set it back to defaults and started tweaking a bit.

i dont know if i should do things like raise voltages, Vcore, or HT ?
Load Line Calibration ?

also, i had read to turn off Turbo Core, should i do this
(will that use more or less power when not in use ?)

any suggestions appreciated

Load line calibration adjusts the voltage to make it more stable when it detects too little voltage when the processor is under load. If that calibration is set to auto and you don’t run into crashes then keep it there.
Turbo core will keep your overclock running during times of load and then throttle it back when it’s not. Turning it off will keep your overclock running continuously regardless of the load. This means more power usage and louder fans. But, you will keep that overclock going for every application no matter how small or large.

Well, changing the clock speed 4.2GHz is fine. Just make sure your VCore is set to auto if you don’t feel comfortable changing it yourself.

Your fan spinning up so fast is due to the default fan curve. Locate the fan options and change the CPU fan speed down on the curve.

what about Load Line Calibration ?
i read a couple of people moving it to medium
is that needed, or should i leave it to auto ?


also, i had read to turn off Turbo Core,
