can i test a motherboards functionality without cpu?

hello im looking to build a ryzen 1600x build and managed to find the GPU i want to use as part of a bundle with an asus b350f mobo, but i wont be able to afford the CPU until later so is it possible to boot into the bios without a CPU installed so i can test the board and then store it in ready for the build later, obviously i could test this myself on this PC but it would be nice to know without having to open my build right now since its quite late, thank you in advance.

Negative. You can't power up a motherboard without a processor and it won't post. That being said if you hook up the mobo speaker, you might get beeps suggesting the motherboard works and is searching for RAM/CPU.

thanks anyway that will do perfectly ill just have to listen for the cpu is missing beep code then ill know its working fine

That just tells you the CPU is missing. Does not indicate full functionality.
But DOA parts are pretty rare.
