What graphics card would you recommend for my pre-built PC?

I've had my HP Windows 7 PC since 2009, its been somewhat fast & reliable, but I want to upgrade some of its hardware so I can run demanding games at high settings and hold a decent frame rate. I'm wondering if I it would be okay to use this PC for gaming since it is an older, pre-built model... will my motherboard and CPU be able to handle a modern graphics card? I'd be swapping out an NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 (payed like 90$ for it back in 2013). What kind of card would you recommend for a budget of around $220 or less? I googled a few models but don't have a lot of knowledge/experience when it comes to PC parts and compatibility. Would I need to get a new motherboard & processor as well? I've included my specs in the attached photo, any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

nutty_69 you will need to upgrade your CPU and motherboard also as they are totaly outdated. your CPU will bottelneck even RX 460 or GTX 1050.
If you are tight on budget here is the best Budget gaming rig for you

CPU : Intel Pentium G4560 = $79 USD
motherboard : MSI Pro Series Intel B250 = $66 USD
Ram : Kingston Technology HyperX FURY Black 8 GB 2133 MHz = $71 USD
GPU : Nvidia gtx 1050 = $110 USD

Total = $326 USD

It will goood for Budget gaming for Next 3 to 4 years

What would be a good replacement CPU? Is compatibility a potential issue? Am I better off just buying a new motherboard with a processor bundle? Sorry for all the questions, this is all new to me.

Thanks for the help! That's a reasonable price. Will I be able to smoothly run games like GTA V and COD WW2 on mid-to-high settings? Would it be pointless to buy a $150-$200 graphics card or is there no major difference between the gtx 1050? One more question, if I replace my motherboard will I loose any data?

It will run GTA V and COD WW2 at Ultra settings 1080p ( Just turn off v-sync ) at 60FPS
It will make very much difference In some games Like DOOM 2016 For GTX 1050 and 1050ti
DOOM 2016 1080p Ultra settings
GTX 1050 = 45 to 50 FPS
Gtx 1050ti = 75 to 80 FPS
You will not loose any of your data if you replace motherboard

Here is my complete review of GTX 1050ti

No way... Tom's Hardware benchmarked the same card and found that when playing DOOM, the average FPS is about 67 FPS on HIGH settings. Also, the CPU used is either an i7-6700K, 7700K, or Skylake-E. Nowhere near your 75-80 FPS. Also, GTA V runs at high settings from 62 FPS to 83 FPS. If ultra settings are used, that means the Anti-Aliasing gets even more intensive, and the CPU cannot handle it, meaning that the game will be struggling to get more than 60 FPS.

I never use AA or V-Sync For games at Ultra or very high settings
Here is my personal gameplay of DOOM 2016 On gtx 1050ti + FX 8320E
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lauz21XQP3o
I have locked FPS to 60 WIth MSI Afterburn
If you want another proof i can make another gameplay video Specially for you.
There is no need of AA if you are playing at 1080p On 1080p Monitor.
and it make no sense to turn on V-sync on entry level GPU.

Brother we are talking about budget gaming
AA and V-Sync reduces Much performance than giving any extra details on entry level GPUs
so it make no sense to buy a budget gpu like RX 460 or GTX 1050ti to play modern games with AA and v-sync ON.
They simply cannot handle that much of load and result in huge FPS loss.
Turning OFF v-sync and AA in modern games will help to play those games at steady 60 FPS very easily on GTX 1050ti.
