Ok, so my pc I recently built (i5 6400, RX 480, 8 Gb ddr4 ram) has been crashing with in the first minute or so of starting up a game or bench mark like firestrike. It performs fast doing normal tasks, streaming content etc. but whenever i try to play a game with in the first minute or so my pc crashes, it goes a solid color like pink grey yellow i've seen quite a few and makes a consistent buzzing sound but doesnt restart. Plus the dram and gpu lights continue to stay on. All my drivers are up to date. Any ideas? Please help..

Does your CPU happen to be a quad-core or dual-core? Also how new is your CPU? Do you happen to know what type of thermal paste you are using and do you know when it was last replaced? Do have a Graphic's card? You should know that a Core I5 wasn't meant to run games it was mainly mean to deal with work.

Also another problem could be that your monitor may be under a lack of information load, remove your ram, wait for 15-20 seconds then re-install your ram back in place, if that doesn't work then unplug the power on your motherboard(usually the plug is a long rectangle on your motherboard) then wait 15-20 and plug that back in. Depending on you type of plug you may have to press down on one side of the plug then pull with force but not...

My psu is an EVGA 600w 80+ bronze. Everything is within a couple months old.

The best way to find out is to test your gpu in another system (with good enough psu of course).
Or just RMA your gpu. It will take a week or 2 but you still have integrated gpu, so you will be able to use the system for browsing, videos etc.

Yah i sold my old system to build a whole new one. But i did request an rma so hopefully everything works out also i had temp monitor running alongside a game and my gpu temps were upper 70s even hit 80 when just starting out the game (first few seconds or so which seems high even for full load)

How many Case fans do you have? What is your average temp inside the case for your average usage time? How many case fans do you have expelling air and in-taking air?

If you manage to answer these then I think I know what may be wrong with your PC.
