Hi I recently built a new pc and have an i7 6700k being cooled by a NZXT kraken x42. I have not overclocked my cpu and when playing a not so demanding game like CSGO I will get arround 400FPS but my cpu tends with stay arround 98 or 99 degrees the entire time playing the game. I know prolonged use at thes temperatures can shorten the lifespan of the cpu and was wondering if you have any solutions. I have installed my NZXT kraken x42 properly and don't understand why temperatures will be so high with no other applications open apart from the NZXT cam software to monitor cpu temps. My graphics card on the other hand a gtx 1060 will stay arround 60 degrees.

Solution
I fixed it thank you everybody for the help after installing the kraken again I booted up the system and idle temps were still around 50 so I pushed the kraken into the cpu and the temps went straight down to around 27 in seconds. I then tightened the screws even tighter and I now have idle temperatures of around 25 degrees and can now play player unknown battlegrounds on ultra at 34 degrees!!! More room for overclocking hopefully now thank you so much for the help though.

I am unable to change the lighting effects as my Kraken is not recognised in the cam software I have connected the micro USB to an internal usb controller and tried installing the drivers and reinstalling cam but it does not work, the fan speeds do not change quickly now and it is a lot quieter butI still have high temperatures. Yes the pump is connected to the CPU_fan connector on the motherboard. I have an Asus z170 a motherboard. Thanks

are the pipes hot? and what about radioator? blowing hot air or cold

The pipes are not hot the radiator is not cool nor is it warm and the fan attached to the radiator I believe is taking in air but is not very strong as i cant adjust fan speeds. http://imgur.com/5UCqmTD Here is a photo of what my cam software looks like.

i think the PUMP is not working
