Wish i was there, minutes would be done. Got facebook? can do a video chat with me on the pc you're downloading files with? webcam and mic? or go into downloads without control panel thing and see if the unzipped file is there and setup straight from that

Full model name and model number of your dell pc and addition of your windows 7 (32bit or 64bit). I will find your driver.

Going into control panel, device manager, network adapters-ethernet, click on yours that has a X to signify it's not installed, then driver tab, update driver, browse pc,find it in downloads folder where you got it, click on it and update/install. If that says no, it's the wrong driver. Then do as above^, I find it for you

http://www.dell.com/support/home/au/en/aubsdt1/product-support/product/inspiron-15-5547-laptop/drivers/advanced

This self installs after it downloads (exe) just click on it after download. or copy to flashdrive and install on intended machine

That's ethernet, others will need installing too. http://www.dell.com/support/home/au/en/aubsdt1/product-support/product/inspiron-15-5547-laptop/drivers/advanced

updated above, forget winzip
Network_Driver_64ND2_WN_7.80.218.2014_A00.EXE
That's why the intel driver failed, your laptop has a realtek chip for ethernet, not intel chip

Is that file on desktop the exe file i suggested? if so point the last step to that and NOT the 7zip file

Download the exe file as above on your working pc, transfer to flashdrive then install through control panel as above

You almost had it, you unzipped, put it in downloads, but chose downloads, rather you needed to click on arrow besides downloads to expand and choose the file you just placed there, ok not the zipped folder but the exe you put there.

Try again, this time you will see it

What version of Windows are you using on the machine? You can go here: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/inspiron-15-5547-laptop/drivers and just below where it says System Analysis (blue button) there's a spot where you can change or select your Windows version. Be sure to select whether it's 32 or 64 bit (if you need help with determining that, let me know). Then choose the network drivers. Install each driver one by one and if it says to restart, go ahead (but it won't likely make you do that).
