Computer Freezes Minutes After Start

My laptop has always worked amazingly for me up until about a week ago. I installed Nvidia GeForce Experience to optimize the settings I play games with but after restarting my computer and attempting to play, my game would freeze up, and I would have to do a hard reset on my laptop. I thought since I downloaded the Nvidia software it would be a graphics driver issue, so I removed the add-on software and changed settings in the game. This worked fine for an entire night without any issue. However, the next day I wasn't even in game and minutes after logging into my computer froze, requiring a hard reset. I was shocked and tried everything I knew how to do: scan for viruses, optimize drives, delete newer software, and restoring the computer to a previous date. Nothing worked and now I'm a bit perplexed. I would greatly appreciate if any of you have some insight as to why my laptop isn't working, I'm leaving for vacation in the next few days and would love to bring and use it!

Solution
In most cases freezes are caused by HDD if thats what you are playing on OR ram.
Get memtest on an USB stick and check your ram, monitor HDD usage while playing and see if it sticks on 100%
Also, get HWMonitor and monitor CPU and GPU temps, that could also be a problem.

I used a hardware monitor to check temperatures of CPU & GPU and the levels never went above their max levels. Laptop never got warmer than usual so I doubt it's an overheating issue.
If it were an HDD issue what would I need to do in order to fix it?
