Hello, I thought it was about time I ask help from people after spending so much time trying to fix and understand the problems myself. Basically, when my pc was first built, it ran great and had no issues. Now, it'll freeze (lockup completely/require full reset) whenever I'm doing cpu extensive tasks, mostly gaming. I've run memtest86 and my ram is fine.

The freezing occurs randomly. Sometimes I can play a game for a couple hours without issue and sometimes it'll freeze within an hour. I believe I either have a voltage issue or a cpu overheating issue. My gpu never goes over 50°c and freezes at around 45°c +/- 2°c. I've scoured some info online and there's a split view on the max acceptable temperature for my cpu, which normally gets to 65°c when gaming with all fans at max. I also have a corsair liquid cooler that was installed by at a computer store. I've used ddu to uninstall my display drivers as well. I'm fairly new to overclocking and have always kept my voltages to default so any help with this issue is greatly appreciated!

Here's my sytem information:

Cpu: Amd fx 9590
Gpu: Nvidia gtx 970
Ram: 16gb ddr3
Mobo: Sabertooth 990 fx R2.0
OS: Windows 10

What kind of power supply are you using ? Plus on the CPU support for you mother board it says that cpu has limitations im not sure what those are but i know this cpu is power hungry. Im sure its the PSU being a Bronze unit and degrading over time

Im using a Thermal take TR2 700 watt. I switched out a 650 watt psu unit for this one in the past based on the recommendation of a shop but that didn't help either. This psu has a 80 bronze eating too and I don't notice any of the normal symptoms of inadequate power supply like sudden shut downs or components going out, just freezes.

Did you experience freezes during gaming? I ran prime 95 and had some hardware failures reported which is why I think its my cpu. I've also used registry cleaners and spybot with other malware programs to make sure it's not a virus. I want to avoid changing the psu again as it didn't work last time either with the help of professionals give or take.

I was naive when I built this pc and was unaware of the horrible overheating tendencies of certain Amd cpus. What psu brand do you recommend? I'm waiting to switch over to an intel build but would like to fix my current problems, if possible.
