Hi there,

I've got a TX750 psu which has a fan on the bottom, would this fan need to be placed up or down when put in the case?

Thanks.

Solution
Depends on the case

PSU mounts int he top of the case with vents on the top above hte psu - aim fan up
PSU mounts in the top of the case with no vents - aim fan down
PSU mounts in the bottom with vents on the bottom - aim fan down
PSU mounts in the bottom with no vents - aim fan up

:D

I would never put the PSU fan up as that would enable anything falling inside the PC dropping directly into the PSU. Even cases with bottom-mounted PSUs still have a ~1/2" gap between the PSU and bottom of the case, which is more than enough for decently efficient PSUs to get all the air they need. On cases with a bottom intake filter for the PSU, the filter itself causes a much bigger airflow obstruction than a solid bottom with 1/2" of clearance.
