Urgent opinion needed

Just upgraded my processor,mobo and ram and I still have alot of data on my HDD and only 1 pc so I can't back it up so will it work if I format just 1 HDD partition in which there is windows installed and then install windows in that partition again ?
Will it run smoothly without any errors?
Pls need quick replies.

Yes it will work. But a risky proposition. Format via installation disk when you get the format prompt initially before it copies Windows boot files to drive. Make sure you choose the right partition. A good idea would be to memorize the volume of each partition.
I have done this personally on Windows 7. Not sure about Windows 10 though, never did that.
