My goal is to achieve a good framerate and no lagspikes in the game Playerunknow's Battlegrounds. At the moment im using this configuration and getting around 40-120 fps, the game feels laggy and despite loving it its a real torture to play..

So this is my current desktop configuration:

CPU: INTEL i7 2600K 4x3,40Ghz-16GB
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 970
MOBO: ASUS P8P67

This is what I have in mind buying tomorrow, so any advice is really helpfull:

CPU: Intel Core i7 7700K BOX (LGA 1151, 4.20GHz, Unlocked)
MOBO: ASUS STRIX Z270F GAMING (LGA 1151, Intel Z270, ATX)
RAM: HyperX Fury (2x, 8GB, DDR4-2400, DIMM 288)
HSF: be quiet! Dark Rock PRO 3 (16.30cm)
HDD: Samsung 850 EVO Basic
PSU: Corsair RM650x (650W)
GPU: Nvidia gtx 970 (same as before, do i need to upgrade already?)
Case: be quiet! Pure Base 600 (Midi Tower)

I think upgrading the processor is the right thing to do in order to get a better framerate, am I correct in this assumption? What do you think about this configuration? Would you change anything?

thx for you help!

""What do you mean with its ok? "
I mean that the components are compatible and they should work together. The cooler would fit at limit: max.construction height of CPU cooler unit (mm) up to 165

"Would you make any changes? "

If you think that it's time for an upgrade and the budget allows it...
The selected components are top for gaming.
There is a debate regarding Ryzen vs Intel, but I'm still an Intel fan... at least for gaming.
