I have 2 external hard drives both usb 3.0.One of the drives was saying 8 Uncorrectable Sector Count.I unplugged all the drives and did a reinstall of windows 7 64-bit.Once everything was reinstalled and updated i plugged the 2 external drives back in and i noticed one of the external drives was registering as usb 2.1 in usbtreeview and windows was giving me the dreaded this device can run faster. After installing different usb drivers which solved that issue i checked all my drives with CrystalDiskInfo once more and to much of my surprise no bad sectors anywhere now.Could the usb drivers cause a wrong reading in CrystalDiskInfo?

Solution
Yes, CrystalDiskInfo has troubles with USB drives and than there are so called Soft sector errors that are usually fixed as they are caused mostly by power or data cuts when in process of writing. Data in those sectors may not be retrievable but rest should be fine.
