If I'm using a motherboard that has wifi/bluetooth built in it would I need a network adapter, and if I do would I use a wireless network adapter or wired network adapter, thanks!

Don't worry. There are no stupid questions.
No, they work independently. You can either use the Wifi, after configuring a Wifi network on the router, or use a cord. However, if router not configured, you'd need a wire until setting the network (in order to access the router's interface)..
