Hi, my hp envy dv6 laptop's hard drive recently failed and i need to get it replaced, I was looking at hard drives and am considering a SSD. I know that there are laptop versions but I wan't to know it will work/fit before I buy a 100$ Hard Drive/SSD.

SSD are in the 2.5 in form factor, whic allows them to fit in laptops. The reason there are laptop and desktop HHD is because in HHD are usualy 3.5 in, they make them smaller (and slower as a result) for laptops.

This is the best SSD you can get for $100, but if this will be your only drive, and you are not willing to spend more on it, you may want to go with a new mechanical hard drive, 250GB will not suffice for long
