Okay, so I'm building a sorta new build. I'm keeping my case which is a cooler master HAF and I'm keeping my hard drives and the power supply. Now I'm upgrading everything else. So I need a new processor, currently I have an i7-2600k. I've had it for at least 6 years and I have to say it's probably the best processor I've had on the planet, up until now..... I've run into a little bit of issues with certain games. (I'm building my computer for gaming obviously.)

But I'm not here to rant about my setup, I'm here to ask if I should get a 6700k or a 7700k. I'm currently not a fan of AMD, I refuse to buy anything AMD, I've had nothing but bad luck with AMD. But I want a processor that will last me a while for gaming for you know another 5-6 years like this nice 2600k did. and I want something that can handle streaming quite alright. I'm so torn between the two of this chips. And now I'm asking you which one should I get 6700k or the 7700k?

Solution
It all depends on your budget, the 1500x its the sweet spot with its 8 threads and price, if for some reason you feel you'll need more threads you can go higher to a 1600-1700 series. Bear in mind that with the 1700 series you'll also need to buy a separate cooler, the 1500x comes already with the wraith cooler which is pretty good for it.
I'd say get Ryzen, hands down the best performance/price cpu out there for gaming+streaming, but..... since you don't want it go with the 7700k. If I'm not mistaken it runs a lil bit cooler than the 6700k so you can OC it for better performance in a few years when you'll need those extra mhz.

If I was going to get a Ryzen chip witch one would be the best for gaming and streaming. Mainly playing games like PUBG or Arma.
