Hard drive not working at all

No input sound coming from the computer
And the hard drive's light does not receive power anymore
However when immediately plugged in, I can hear beeping coming from the drive. What does this indicate?
Model: Transcend TS1TSJ25A3W 1TB

Does the USB cable have 2 USB connectors ?
According to the manual for USB 2.0 you might need to plug in both (2) USB ports to get enough power.
However, it does not mention that the External HDD has an onboard speaker or beeper.

There had always just been one UBS connector though
It used to work fine actually. I've tried plugging it into an apple charger but still no power at all.
The beeping is very soft though, I had to put it against my ear to hear it but it's there
There just isn't light coming from the hard drive anymore
