Ok.So my cpu gets too hot when playing video games and even in idle its stays too hot.Two days ago i had an old pc case without any fans, and an intel stock cooler. When i started playing a game that is a little bit demanding, the cpu would heat up and at about 100°C.At that temperature i could play for about 5-10 min, it would lose the monitor signal, and wont recover only after restart.

Now i have a 5 fan case, and a new cooler:
http://www.deepcool.com/product/case/2015-02/9_1721.shtml
http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/hyper-tx3-evo/

Even with these, there is something wrong with the pc.In idle its stays at around 60°C-70°C, and in game it oscilates between 100°C and 105°C, 105°C beeing the max temperature. This time it wont lose the monitor's signal when it gets hot and i'm playing for a while.

I keep thinking that i might have not applied the thermal paste correctly and this might lead to the hight temperature.

The CPU is an i7 3770 3.4Ghz and i think its overcloked. The core speed stays at 3890.19 MHz at a multiplier of x39.Maybe undoing the overclocking might cool the cpu a little? But i dont want to lose too much of the performance from when it's overclocked.

If any of you can help me I will be grateful.

Also, if you need anyother information about my pc replay, and ill tell you what you need.

Thank you.

I'm sure the liquid cooler wont solve the problem because its something wrong with the processor not the cooler. How do i down clock my CPU?

firstly 3.70ghz on your cpu is just it being into turbo mode, according to http://ark.intel.com/products/65719/Intel-Core-i7-3770-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz all by itself without you fiddling with any voltages and such "overclocking methods".
It should reach 3.90 so if you have been fiddling with "overclocking" take that off cause your likely pushing too much voltages along the line. and is making your "overclocked cpu" not even running turbo mode properly. reset cmos and you can overlock it later after you solve the temp issue.

1. check your paste pry it open from heatsink and inspect its not peeling like a cake you squashed (meaning you have way too much)
1a. does it cover the entire cpu surface, if not then clean up and reapply.
2. your fan may not be running properly, do you have HWINFO and see what speed your fan is running when cpu is heating up @ 85c it should be running @100% (the shutdown your experiencing is cpu trying to bot burn up)
3. make sure you plugged the cpu fan in the right motherboard header... (usually marked CPU Fan) nor CPU FAN ASST.

I have mounted it correctly,it is in place, and i have set the speed of all the fans to maximum from the BIOS.I dont understand why it would not cool the CPU properly...

Ok so: I didnt overclock the CPU so it might be as you and other person said, in turbo mode.
1 and 1a: I will open the case and check if it is as you said.
2: i set all my fans to run at max speed all the time.
3: it is in the right header.
I'll do 1 and see if it changes anything.

EDIT: I cleaned and reaplied the thermal paste again and now runs at 50°C-60°C in idle.It is an improvement i guess.Dont know what else i could do.
