Hi,

I have 2 Asus R9 280x cards with HDMI, Div-I and DisplayPort connectos. Is there a way to use the DisplayPort connectors using both cards instead of one type (DisplayPort and DIV-I) for each monitor on the same card?

I believe if you want CROSSFIRE you need to run from the same card, which I assume is the reason as I can't think of another reason.

If you just wanted to drive a secondary display for non-gaming then you can mix GPU's no problem.

Is there a problem with insufficient bandwidth from DVI (I assume you just have one DP)?

I assume it's dual-link DVI so that would support a 2560x1440 60Hz monitor (but not 144Hz at 2560x1440).

Thank you for answering photonboy.

Both cards have 1 DP, 1 HDMI and 2 DVI ports. Now I have one monitor connected to one of the card's DP and the other monitor connected to one of the second card's DVI ports. If I try to connect the second monitor to the second card's DP port I get no signal. The cards are not phisically crossfire connected.
