Hello,

I am currently running a AMD Radeon 7950 GPU, and it runs pretty hot since I got it reaching from 70-80 degrees C while playing Counter Strike or League of Legends. I'm looking to upgrade, and haven't kept up with graphics card in a while. I am looking for something that runs pretty cool, but is also an upgrade from what I have now. Any suggestions? Price range $200-300 would like to keep it lower than 3, but please give me a suggestion!

A 1050TI runs pretty cool. A 1060 doesn't get too hot either and within your price range. The 1050TI is a slight upgrade. A 6GB 1060 is a better upgrade. A 3GB seems to be pretty much a tie with what you have performance wise. You can find a 6GB version on Amazon right now for 279.00, that Zotac Amp version

Here is it compared to the 7950 to give you an idea of how much better it will perform.

I am not going to say that it will run...
GTX1060 is in your budget range.
Usually, the nvidia cards run cooler and take 75w less power than comparable performing amd cards.

That said, 80c. seems to be a target limit for cards to run at.
They are built to tolerate heat.

One think to look at is your case cooling. Your front intakes should provide plenty of fresh air. Two 120mm fans or better.

I have the same GPU and my temps never get that high. Are you using a custom fan profile?

I am not going to say that it will run cooler, but the Nvidia chipsets are designed to be able to handle 100+ temps.

The 1060 I linked to would be the better choice. But just so you know, the 7950 is designed to operate at up to 85 degrees, so don't go and purchase a new card because you think 70-80 is too hot. You are OK with those temps when under a load. That being said, that 1060 Amp card, you will get better gaming performance than the 7950 taking for granted you don't have a sub-par CPU that is going to create a bottleneck.

I'm aware 70-80 isn't going to break the card, but it is making my room way to warm. Especially when I am not playing games with insane graphics.

Fair enough. My 1060 tends to run 60ish when gaming, so it is definitely a lot less heat than 80. The 1060 Amp I linked sounds like it would be perfect for you and in the price range you are looking at, and should be future proof for a good while.
