Hey guys my laptop is really slow it was good before i was playing with good fps now it is about 9fps it was between 90-140, browser, youtube, videos, all was fine but now it is slow i tried a lot to fix it but...
( i was using it and i left it for about 6 months with no playing not opening only a few ties for about 6 months)
laptop: Dell n5010
cpu: intel core i3 cpu m380 2.53ghz (4cpus) ~2.5ghz
RAM: 6GB
Display: AD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series

Solution
OK, there is one thing that jumps out at me in that screenshot: with that much CPU activity the CPU should be running at a much higher frequency than 0.88 GHz. The rated frequency of that chip is 2.53GHz.

That looks like the reason you're running so slowly. The next thing to try would be to reset the BIOS. Unfortunately this would require some disassembly. As an alternative, check the Dell support site for a BIOS update and run that.

Since you've tried many fixes that may have changed your system from a stock configuration, you should list all the things you've tried. Be specific and detailed about what you did and how you went about it, it's important.

That will also help speed up the process of people being able to help you by not having them suggest things you have already tried.

Hope that helps :)

Well thanks.

1_I checked the temperature for (CPU43, GPU51, HDD42)
2_i formated and clean install windows 10 pro
3_Optimize and defragment for pc
4_Latest drivers ALL
5_I repaired pc with windows doctor
6_I opened and cleaned the pc and the fan
7_New Thermal paste

and many things i really don't remember

Let's take a look at what's running then. Restart the laptop, then don't open any other programs. Open the task manager (either CTRL-ALT-DEL or right-click an empty spot on the taskbar). Open the "More Details" view on the bottom, and look at the performance tab. In this situation it should settle near zero on the CPU and HDD with light RAM use. If it doesn't settle use the "Processes" tab to sort what's using the most CPU or HDD time.

There's nothing wired on the cpu or hdd they are fine eve the cpu is running about %1-%3 when doing nothing

this is eset sysinspector test :

Can you be more precise about what actions are slow (opening programs, viewing files in Explorer, or only online activities) and how slow it is? If it seems like stuff that runs offline is better, reset the router. There might be a reset button, or you can switch it off or unplug it for a minute or two and restart it.

I am running microsoft windows malicious software removal tool and it is half scan for now about %50 and files scanned 750,000 i don't know how that i thought there is only about 280,000 files in my system but what ever it is scanning right now

and i've searched for malware before this and nothing

Well, malware or a system process or service run amok would usually show up in the task manager as either high CPU or disk use. At what level is the RAM usage, roughly?

Also, in the task manager, go to the Startup tab and check what's set to load on startup. Disable anything that's not needed there. While there take note of the frequency reported for the CPU. If you're not sure what to post, just put up a screenshot.

the %30 cpu usage because of the Windows malicious tool

well there is update but there's one problem the battery is dead as you can see from pictures is there any way to force the bios update cause the battery is under %10

by the way before i format my pc the bios was updated and same problem was slow performance

I just recalled you said you've already opened it (to clean the heatsink and fan). If the BIOS update doesn't work, open it again and look for a small round coin battery on the board. Make sure the main battery is removed and it's not plugged in to power, then pop out the coin battery for a minute or two. This drains power to the BIOS chip, thus accomplishing a reset of default settings (it would also set your time and date backwards, so you'd have to correct that).

The problem is that your CPU is running at a lower frequency than it should be. It has nothing to do with Windows, or malware. If a BIOS update and reset don't fix it, very carefully remove and replace the CPU. If nothing works, the chip may need to be replaced.

I don't know of a way to force the Dell software. Try the reset as I outlined in the last post then.
