How would I make my own water-cooled side panel?

So I found this on YouTube:

That side panel tho... I have access to acrylic panels and cnc machines, so I would like to make one myself for a Thermaltake Core P7. My only real question is how would I seal two panels together? Could I use acrylic glue to weld the panels together, or should I go the same way as the video and use bolts and o-ring cord?

If you would like to know what else is in the build, here is my list:

The custom panel would replace the tempered glass panel, it will be a hassle to put together and to take apart, but oh well, it will be art!

personally i think it would look better with out all the nuts and bolts

though no idea how visible acrylic glue would be or how flexible it is as assume a glue with no flexibility might be prone to cracking

though guess if used similar approach to how they make fish tanks using separate sheets--not the molded in one piece ones--they certainly stand up to a lot

of strain caused by the weight of the water in them

Glue done right might work but you would need a lot of surface area and talent. I had a buddy who could glue panels without a trace of the glue being seen through clear uncolored acrylic and it was art. That said I think the safer route would be nutz, bolts, o-ring... with or without glue. Using glue in tandem you may be able to decrease your metal (nutz bolts) usage some but it may still have hazards, read on. If you went straight glue I believe you could run into issues down the line. Could be just your luck one of the liquids you use to cool also happens to dissolve your glue. You could argue doing proper research on your coolant's chemicals could eliminate that issue (in theory it would). So it is a question of how much home work you want to do and risk your willing to take. I won't lie though. It would look sick of you could manage to go without metal bits ;)
 
and to be honest i would have 2 lines of o-ring cord around all the fluid containing parts

just to be on the safe side

as in the unfortunate event of something going wrong its not like you could get that panel disconnected fast enough

though he might have used quick disconnects

but would still have 2 o-rings myself in case something happened when you werent there

no doubt I'd get a cheap pump, try out a simple channel and both glue and bolt configs and see which one I can manage and which gives better results. I wish that there were more people who've done this to spread the knowledge
 


well you can be the next one --certainly got us interested already

and yes doing a smaller scale test is a very sensible idea

well I have some inspiration from Interstellar, so I think I might try something that looks spacey with either and frosted acrylic to make some galactic looking stuff, or I might just do a simple outline of the Endurance.

yes, there will be 1/8 or 1/4 inch rads depending on how flow tests go...

lost me there

g 1/4 is the standard thread for watercooling

cant say have seen anything with 1/8
