Hello, i have Asus P6X58D-E motherboard with i7-960 and
"Kingston-hyperx-X5DX3Y-ELD-2GB-2Rx8-XMP3-1600U-2-GB-DDR3-9-12-BO"
which i think is CL9
i have been looking for a long time and searching for a matching 3x4gb kit but couldn't find any.
can someone please advice a viable upgrade ?
and if i got 3 single 4gb sticks with a total of 12gb and throw away my current 6gb would be a worth it ? would a i notice a different while playing game ?
or should i go with 2x8gb for a total of 16 gb and totally ignore that triple channel thing ?
i have i7-960 with gtx970.

you help will be highly appreciated.
thank you.

Well, depends if you are stuck at 7000+ megabytes while gaming.
If you are then the amount of memory is important to you more than speed.
So even single channel is ok if you can't get that triple channel.
Buying 1 by 1 without kit of 3 can be little bit risky but I think if the seller/store is good enough you can give it back if it doesn't work with your PC.
Also, reason why you can't find any triple kit is because x58 was only "recent" triple kit platform, and as you know it is old - almost 10 years old.
