i am wondering if it will need an update or if it will work. if it will need an update how will i do that?

Yes but you have to update the BIOS prior to installing a Kabylake CPU. You will need BIOS version 2A or better, here is the site to get the newest BIOS.

Unless it is old stock, it will have the requisite bios update.
Motherboards made after 11/2016 should be OK.

If the seller guarantees that update, you will be ok.
What to do if you find yourself needing the update?
You will have to borrow a 6th gen cpu to do the update.
A local shop will be able to update for you for a modest charge.

If you have any doubts, spend a bit more for a B250 based motherboard.
