Are the Grand Theft Auto games played in first person or third person mode?

The ones before GTA 3 were top down. GTA 3, vice city, san andreas, GTA 4, are all third person only, though there are first person mods for GTA 4. GTA 5 has both however I dont much care for first person in gta 5, the game was designed as a third person game they added first person on the ps4, xbone, and pc versions. The field of view is too small even if you max out the slider it makes me literally sick to my stomach if I use it for too long, its really weird to roll or jump in first person, iron sights are funky though I cant really put my finger on to why. I much prefer third person in GTA 5, or in any open world gta esque game. But GTA 5 does have first person if you really want to use it.
