Hi guys, I'm putting together my first PC, and I'm having trouble getting the build to post to bios or anything at all.
Specs:
Ryzen 5 1400
MSI B350M gaming pro
GTX 970
RipJaws 8gb ddr4 2800
SeaSonic 520w PSU

Right now it starts, all fans run but I don't believe its posting, I don't get any input through the monitor. On my Mobo the CPU led is on indicating a problem with the CPU? The CPU power connection is definitely installed correctly. I read other posts with problems like mine and it seems most of them needed a bios update but my board was built in may of 2017 and should have support for Ryzen 5 I think. I've also tried switching my stick of ram to the other port and nothing changed, also taking the ram out didn't even light up the Ram error LED. One more possibly useful piece of information is that currently my HDD and Power light on the front of my case (Cooler master 912 Haf) aren't lighting up at all. In addition I can switch it on with the power button, but turning it off or resetting it doesn't work. The only way to turn the computer off is with the power supply switch or unplugging it. I believe I have the pins for all the switches and front LEDs wired correctly but I haven't actually rewired it.

Solution
Hey guys fixed my own problem. I followed my cases guide to installing standoffs and it had me install an extra one that shorted out the mobo, don't just assume its bios!

I had a similar problem - except it was my power supply. The MicroATX case I used has a little tab that would slip into the front of the power supply (happened on two power supplies!). What helped the most was posting the board outside of the case (on a box with anti-static plastic) to make sure the board was fine and it was a case short.

I also had one bad ram DIMM. The EZ LEDs would show BOTH CPU and RAM lights on - but it was not a CPU problem. FYI.

(RYZEN 7 1700, B350M Gaming Pro, Corsair 3000, Geforce 1050).
