Hai there
I've recently bought a new gaming rig, so as usual I wanted to check if there are any thermal problems. I opened FurMark to stress the GPU and Prime95 max heat preset to stress the CPU. After 10 minutes GPU hit 70*C and CPU hit over 90*C. I'm using Hyper 212X single fan and thermal paste that was provided with the cooler in box. I have Arctic mx4 laying somewhere in my house. Do you think it will reduce the temps to atleast 80*C?

What kind of cpu temps do you get in games or in another stress test like aida64? The latest version of prime 95 with avx is in no way indicative of the temps you will get say gaming or in other mainstream tasks. I only use older versions of prime with no avx or aida64 for cpu stress testing.

Just run it at default and leave the thing alone before you brake it .

That's a good suggestion, except he didn't say whether or not he hit over 90C in normal use. Using an aftermarket cooler some people can have issues with the cooler either not being adequate or not being installed properly.

He said it was under full load in prime so my question is why is he using prime ? What are the temps at idle ? how about in game ?

Reapply thermal paste and stop using benchmarking programs . Is this computer for a client or personal use ?

I just played full game of csgo and max temp was 79*c. At idle it's just under 40 degrees.

Did you do anything in the bios ?

Some idle at higher temps than others, 40C would be on the high side, assuming 24C-26C ambients...

A few 7700K samples have been stubbornly warm, and, require delidding to get into control, apparently. It'll be up to the OP to decide if current gaming load temps warrant the investment/risk to cpu of the delidder tool....

Yea I disabled avx offset, enabled virtualization and all c states, my mobo doesn't support oc. I don't even know how can you mount the fan wrong way on a 212. I don't know my room temps, but I think they are under 30. I'll run GTA 5 for about an hour and update you guys on the temps.

Reset your bios to default and put the cpu fan to max. Under 30c Thats still a hot room.do you have A/C ?
