Yesterday i got an used MSI Gtx 970 from ebay, once i installed it on my SetUp, it worked fine for a bit, then while i was playing, i would get both audio and video lag, sometimes, both audio and video would freeze, and i just got a ''buzzing'' sound.

I had to turn off my pc by pressing the power button every time that happened, i contacted the seller, and he said he would give me a refund. Before shipping back the gpu to the seller, i had the awful idea of modifying the gpu clock using MSI Afterburner, then i restarted my PC, and i didnt get video signal. My PC 6would boot, but with no video, i was able to play music without any video signal, i could hear windows ''warning'' sounds, etc.

Then i turned it off again by pressing the power button. Removed the GPU and turned it on again, this time the pc didnt boot, but al the LEDs and Fans turned on, i proceeded to turn it off again, and i tried to boot the pc with another GPU, a R9, 270x. This time it didn't boot, the boot_device_led would stay red, i turned off the PC again, i tried booting it with an old GeForce 210, same thing, Boot_device_led would stay on. Then i tried booting it around 10 times more without a GPU, same thing, led would stay on.

I asked a friend and he Recommended me to do a power drain, i did the process like 5 or 6 times, nothing. Then i took out the CMOS battery, i did the power drain, left the PC disconnected for about an hour, then i put everything back in its place, but nothing happened. Boot_Device_Led would stay on.
Then i took the motherboard out of the case, just left the processor in the socket, i also removed the Battery from the motherboard, and i left the motherboard out of the case without the battery for about 2 hours, nothing happened, next thing i did was a power drain, and then i left the mobo out of the case for about an hour, still nothing. Idk what to do anymore cause i'm not even getting video signal to get in the BIOS. Any help would be appreciated.

My Build:
Asus b150 Pro Gaming Aura
i5-6400
G.skill Trident Z RGB 2x8Gb
kingston ssdnow v300
EVGA Bronze 600w
Riotoro Bifrost 240

I'm guessing you left the option checked in MSI Afterburning to "apply these settings on restart" meaning it is automatically applying the OCing everytime you rebooted.

I'm also guessing you fried something. Do you have an intel cpu? Can you try booting from the intel graphics on board via mobo instead of using an external GPU?

At the very least, you should be able to see a post.

I did, it worked, well, it only works if i use a vga cable, after i installed all the drivers and it was working, i tested the geforce 210, and it only worked if i connected it through vga, not HDMI. I just got a brand new gtx 1050ti, and i have the same problem, video signal is being sent through the vga cable connected to the mobo, not the hdmi cable connected to the gpu. So i'm guessing i messed up the mobo

How do i remove the OC? i don't have the 970 with me anymore, i uninstalled MSI afterburner too, and yeah, the cable is not the problem, i connected it to my laptop and it works

Ah didn't know you got rid of the card.

If you uninstalled Afterburner, it should have removed the OC. However, it's not a bad idea to double check that. Reinstall Afterburner and see if everything is at stock.

In the end though it kind of sounds like the mobo.

It appeared to be the HDMI cable, which is quite weird, since it works on every device i try it on, except for my pc, even tho that was the cable i was using before
