Graphics Card upgrade suggestion for Asus P6X58D-PREMIUM

Hi, I have Asus P6X58D-PREMIUM Motherboard with PCI-EXPRESS 2.0, i7 920 12G DDR3 RAM. Currently use ATI 5870

I am considering a new Graphics Card Like AMD RX580 or NV GTX1060, But wondering if the Motherboard can support and work perfectly with those options?

or any Graphics Card suggestion can work for Asus P6X58D-PREMIUM?

The RX58-/GTX1060 are both 4 tiers above the HD5870 you own, so you're fine. You will be good with whichever you choose but if you're looking to game at resolutions higher than 1080p then you're going to run into a CPU bottleneck.

The card will be backwards compatible with a PCI-E x16 2.0 slot. The real question apart from the CPU is if the PSU can handle the entire system's draw. Mind sharing the PSU's make and model and it's age?

Thanks, your feedback really help, My PSU wont be a problem, I use Corsair 1000w (Maybe RM Series, not sure) about 6year old
