I recently bought a new monitor (which is 60hz) to use along with the primary monitor I've been using (144hz) and currently have one video card (GTX 970). When I connected both monitors to my one video card, I saw some very subtle performance issues and figured it might be a good idea to connect my secondary monitor directly to my mobo. After I got that set up and the integrated gpu drivers installed, I noticed that I was getting performance issues doing stuff like using chrome to browse websites whereas videos would not play at the correct framerate, simple animations such as opening and closing tabs would be choppy, load times were longer, and scrolling down a webpage was choppy as well. I started up a game and it ran fine at ~144fps though. I looked at MSI Afterburner which has a monitor for the GPUs and it looked like when I wasn't playing a game, the integrated graphics card would jump up to like 100% usage when watching youtube which leads me to believe that the GTX970 is only being used occasionally. I would like for the GTX970 to be prioritized above the integrated graphics card as much as possible (if possible, in all cases other than to display the secondary monitor), if someone could point me in right the direction to do so?
