The best GTX 1080 TI is the ASUS STRIX. Gamers Nexus did a comparison of several GTX 1080 TI's here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtEZWFXWqCc

The strix version, this generation, is the most acoustically efficient card in the class. It runs cooler than other GTX 1080 TI's while outputting the same amount of noise, it runs quieter than other GTX 1080 TI's at the same temperature limit, and overclocks well (OC).

The STRIX is the best air cooled version, that is. If you want even better thermals and lower noise output, you can get a watercooled version, but they are so much more expensive than air cooled ones that I don't think they'll be worth it.

Overclocking is when you run a graphics card at a higher speed than out of the box. You...

Overclocking is when you run a graphics card at a higher speed than out of the box. You can do it safely so long as you do it through software only, such as MSI afterburner, ASUS GPU tweak, or EVGA Precision. You can find many tutorials online on how to do this if you're interested in learning.

I've got the Strix 1080ti OC edition

Absolutely love it!

Overclocks really well, excellent cooler and doesn't get loud at all

My last three nvidia GPUs have all been Asus Strix versions due to the cooling/noise performance

hi

I also thought that the strix was the best 1080ti aftermarket card. but, then i got my eyes on the MSI Lightning X. look at that thing. been checking up on reviews and it seems great. although the 3x 8 pins are absolutely unnecessarily and only to make it look more powerful than it is. but what the heck.

but at this point. the price should be mentioned. this one is the most expensive 1080ti out there. you can get the asus Poseidon for less...

or even a founders edition with for example a NZXT bracket kit and a Nzxt KRAKEN for that GPU is still cheaper then the lightning. and you will get better temps since... water.

i looks good thought. 3 slot beast.-
