Cpu: Amd FX 8350
motherboard: asrock 970a-g/3.1

i have a similar problem right now. i tried to put ram in slot 3 or 4 and my system wont boot even to bios the fans are spinning and everything tho. the dram led lights up. but when i puit the rams in slot 1 and 2 its booting fine. i dont know if the ram slot 3 and 4 are faulty. its hard for me to believe that coz my system is almost new. i just did a cpu swap and then this happened. and then when i returned the original cpu the problem is still there. did the cpu swap made the ram slots faulty? is this permanent? will i be able to do dual channel again or will i be able to even use slots 3 and 4 again?

heres a quick scenario of the problem:
ram in slot 1 and 2 = ok
single ram slot 1 = ok
single ram slot 2 = ok
ram in 1 and 3 = not booting
ram in 2 and 4 = not booting
ram in 3 and 4 = not booting
single ram slot 3 = nnot booting
single ram slot 4 = not booting

anyone help..

both of you probably just need to config your BIOS, for ghostw0w that has a 970a MoBo, enable a config called 'channel interleaving',(M.I.T>ADVANCED MEMORY SETTINGS, Change DRAM timing control from 'AUTO' to 'QUICK') before I did this I was only able to use slots 1 and 3 on my FX6300.
hariziyo408 try doing the same or finding a eqivalent to channel interleaving

what may have caused this problem because it was working before i changed the cpu to a cpu that is the exact same model. i just did this to check if that cpu is working. my mobo is a z170-a asus by the way. any idea on what is the equivalent to channel interleaving in my mobo? this is the first time i heard of channel interleaving.
and do i need to put the ram in the position that i want to? before performing tbis config. which is 2 and 4. coz its not booting when i do that. its only booting when ram is placed in slot 1 or 2.
