Hi, This weekend I'm recibing a Core i7 7800X and Gskill memory 2x8gb tridentz RGB 4133mhz,
I plan a good overclock with my Corsair H100i gtx, 4.5ghz-4.7ghz, I
was wondering if the Asus Strix-e X299 is a good mobo for my setup, or should i Wait for the Rog Rampage Vi Apex?? (I use a gtx 1080 ti Strix) I game at 1440p 144hz and 4k 60fps and some 3d and video editing.

This questions is about mainly the VRM issue, and I want an Asus mobo because the auralighting feature.

Looking forward to hearing for suggestions.

You should be ok with the strix x299 VRM wise. It's basically a gaming version of the Prime X299 motherboards. If the previous Z97 and Z170/Z270 variants are anything to go by, the Strix X299 has the same overclocking capability as the Prime X299-A. The Apex motherboard is an ROG motherboard so it's going to have slightly more mosfets and VRMs, however that's only needed if you want to get to insane overclocks at stupidly high voltage. If you just want a high overclock at max safe voltages for 24/7 use, the strix should be fine.
