Is this a good motherboard for this build?

Solution
You have to remove it anyways if you wanna access the M2 slot and CMOS battery. But anyways, as i said before, even the Hero is a gem of a board. You should go ahead and get it if you are not comfortable with the Code idea.
Its a very good board, but when you are spending so much, just pay a little extra and get the Code instead. Its an absolute beauty with a lot of extra features over the Hero. The board comes with lots of connectivity options, overclocking potential and features like superior audio codec with headphone amps, bluetooth and wifi.
Its just a personal suggestion though as my brother uses the Code and I am simply in love with it. You can get the Hero as well, its also pretty dope.

Dust can gather and collect underneath the plastic "armor" plate over the motherboard on the Code.

Yeah, but if it gets underneath that plastic panel covering the motherboard, it can be tricky to remove.
