Ok so i recently bought an oculus rift and my set up so far has been...
surround sound ->projector->HDMI to DVI adapter ->DVI port on computer

Everything was working as intended, was receiving sound from my surround sound when using computer, and sound from my rift headphones when i set them as default in my audio device menu, until earlier today when i knocked the DVI adapter out, now I have no surround sound and my surround doesn't even show up in the audio devices menu.
I've tried switching the cables around and the closest I've got to it working again is by having my projector connected directly to HDMI and my rift connected to the DVI to HDMI, but by doing it this way my rift has no picture so no good, this has happened once before and I have no idea how i got it working again, I can't seem to fix it this time, anyone know what is wrong?
