How to mount the H55 on the ASRock z270 Pro4

Hi folks,

I have just received a package containing my new ASRock Z270 Pro4 motherboard, along with an i5-7600K and 2x8GB 2400 RAM. I am very excited to try this new gear out. However, when I tried to transplant my CPU cooling - Corsair H55 - from my old rig to my new one, with the ASRock, I found that the metal bracket holding down the copper part of the cooler does not fit the motherboard's screw holes. The board is an 1151 one, and the cooler is explicitly said to support that. Instead, the holes on the board are in a square arrangement, probably suited for pushpin fans. Am I going to have to buy a new cooler?

That could be very possible. I'm sure if you looked on ebay you could find just the bracket for cheap.

Ah, I see. No, the cooler came pre-built in my rig of which I picked the parts and had built by a company. Guessing they didn't think it was necessary to give me the tools to reuse my parts.

Yeah, that's it. I am currently on an AMD mobo (GA-930A-D3) and that combined with the fact that they didn't send me the bracket for a different socket now gets me stuck.
Thanks for your help, guys. Should have thought of this myself.

In fact, in that manual, part J is the ring I have and is only compatible with AM2 and AM3 motherboards, which explains why my 1151 motherboard doesn't take the cooler.
