Fresh install - can't connect to the internet

My old and trusty PC recently died on me and I went out and bought a stopgap computer to keep me going until I can afford to build a new PC from scratch. Only problem with the replacement is that it came preloaded with Windows 10, which I personally hate - it also won't work with a few of my older programs. So I decided to go with a clean install of Windows 7 and everything worked fine except one thing - I cannot get the damn thing to recognize the router and home network we use, even though it's directly connected. It keeps saying that there's driver issues every time I troubleshoot it, but of course how can I resolve a driver issue of it can't connect to the internet? It worked perfectly fine with Windows 10 so clearly the machine is having a temper tantrum with 7. I tried the standard things like disconnecting the router and turning it off and on. I also tried turning off the PC and disconnecting it from the power as well. Zip.

One last point. I could have sworn that the issue with my old PC was that the graphics card had died, but when I ordered in a replacement it still wouldn't work - as far as the monitor is concerned it's not connected. What else could it be? The mobo or the processor? The PC seems to power up okay when I turn it on, and all the lights and meters on the front of the panel come on.

Solution
LAN drivers. Try the first download.

However, you will most likely need the other drivers as well such as Chipset drivers. If you look in device manager. It should see a list of devices with ! on it. That means they need drivers installed as well.

Yes, most of the time doing a clean installation of windows 7 does not include ethernet or wifi drivers. You will have to go to the manufacturer's website (on a different PC of course), download the ethernet driver for the system onto a disc or USB, then install them on the PC that has the missing drivers. Once you are able to connect to the internet on that PC it will be easier to get the rest of the missing drivers as well as updates.

Hi guys,
Okay, I'm a bit confused. I went to the ASUS site, put in the Mobo model, and looked up drivers - it gave me a list of 76 files to choose from under the Win 7 64-bit category. Which one do I need? Or should I simply install the most up to date one in each category?

Great, all fixed. Thanks. Just one point - should I install the latest drivers for everything else (BIOS, Audio, Utilities, USB, Chipset, SATA, Hotfix) as a matter of course, or just leave well enough alone?
