Hey all not sure if this is the right topic to post this in but I got an xperia XZ, plug it into my pc and troubleshoot it, it tells me there isn't a driver installed and Sony PC companion doesn't recognise the phone... Is there a driver somewhere that I have to download? Troubleshooting does not fix the problem. Any help much appreciated

Try enabling developper option in settings to enable usb debugguing Go in about phone fast tap on the build number to enable developper settings, when enabled click the switch to enable usb debugging. Then plug in your phone in your pc then slide down the notification and chose usb debugging settings then chose file transfer or mtp to transfer files.

There is a setting on the phone about how the USB functions when plugged to a computer. Set it to work like a flash drive and you'll be able to just view the phone from Windows Explorer and transfer files manually. No Sony software required. Hope this helps you somehow.
