i was wondering when this new chip launches on august 21st is it just going to be specs and what not or will it actually be purchasable

Depends on your budget dude.If you are going for it,do it.No one is holding you back.It will cost alot of money so just keep your 7700K if you have one because that CPU is still awesome for 4K gaming.

Recommended for new builders to wait for Coffee Lakes and its obviously going beat mostly the Ryzen 1600X via Gaming

no as in say Vega for example it was unvieled on july 30th but when july 30th came around they said it wouldnt be in stores to aug 14th

It's just the official day they reveal it.
