Everything was going fine until I tried to play some games. Mind you, I did a fresh install of everything (windows, steam, games, etc.). Every game I tried to play would not work. Within a minute or two of trying to play a game, I would get the notification "Program has been denied access to graphics hardware" and then the game would freeze completely. League of legends, Payday 2, Overwatch, CSGO. I checked the firewall settings and made sure nothing is being blocked. I used DDU to uninstall my graphics drivers and reinstall it again to no avail (I tried both 17.7.2 and 17.2.1). I thought it might be a Windows 10 problem, so I reinstalled Windows but this time used 8.1 but the problem persists. However, in 8.1, instead of getting the notification, the game would just freeze / not respond.

I then tried using my brothers Radeon HD 7750 and it still caused the same problems. At this point, I'm fairly certain its not a graphics card or graphics driver issue. My bios is updated to the latest version, 0806. I installed all the latest drivers from the Asus product page. I can run Prime95 small and large fft tests fine, but the blend tests errors out really quickly. This makes me think its a ram problem so I tried running memtest and Windows Memory compatibility but I get no errors. I try running with only one ram stick. Ram stick A worked perfectly fine in slot 3; I was able to play games. Ram stick B worked fine in slot 4; I was able to play games. Either sticks in slot 1 or 2 caused me errors (either BSOD KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE or just game freezing, but mostly BSOD right when I log into Windows). Since stick A and B worked fine in slot 3 and 4, respectively, I tried using them both together in those slots. Then the game would freeze / go not responding. I'm running memtest right now but there are no errors again. I'm really not sure what's causing this problem.

Solution
Looks quite clear that it is some sort of incompatibility issue, the fact that it works fine with only one module on a certain slot shows that the RAM modules are fine, but some bug must happen when in dual mode.

You could try changing the ram values (TCas, RAS, etc) if you have knowledge of them to see if that fixes it, you could also simply try to raise the RAM voltage to the next possible level.

If nothing of it fixes it see if other people is having a similar problem with the same motherboard, maybe a new BIOS has been released to address the problem so look for it in your mobo's website.

I thought that but I can run OCCT and Prime95 and MSI Kombustor perfectly fine, which should stress out the psu much more than gaming should. I have not actually monitored the voltages though.

According to the Antec website the power supply has a 3 year warranty which is why I asked about it. Also the new equipment may be stressing different outputs of the power supply than the old equipment.
I had to replace a fairly new power supply last year after upgrading the video card as it would crash when running games or the Heaven benchmark but work fine otherwise.

Ran memtest multiple times and I don't get any errors. It is still possible that the ram is faulty but any reason why only games freeze? I can watch a movie, browse the internet, stress test, basically anything except playing games... am I missing a driver or something?
