Here's the deal, when i play gpu-intensive games like gta5 everything is ok, but in low-demanding game like Warcraft 3 my frequences spike up and down with some constant pattern every 5-10 seconds even when nothing happens in the game, and when something graphics-intensive happens there and the spike is on it's low, it starts lagging. It can lag for 10secs and then freeze the whole PC. Heres the Afterburner picture

This issue happened all of a sudden, didnt install or update anything, it just started to happen today. The card is gtx 660, windows 7 so no forced or hidden updates. Afterburner screenshot explains everything that happens

The afterburner monitoring was done during 5 minutes while i logged in warcraft 3 and left it idling, nothing happened in the game, totally idle

Btw reinstalled geforce game ready and the videocard drivers just to be sure. Also just yesterday played warcraft3 in 6 windows simultaneously and never had this issue. restarted several times

all the cpu gpu power frequency usages are in the screenshot provided, afterburner runs in the background silently monitoring. cpu usage is 10% in wc3

Checked again other games and this actually happens only in wc3 since today, this is what happens: the card thinks it can handle this game at 324mhz at 40%gpu load for 5seconds, then it goes up to 700mhz for 10 seconds at 15%gpu load, then back. And if the game gets very intensive it tries to handle it at 324mhz and drops the fps, and may crash the computer for some reason, wonder what to do with it and how to make it not drop mhz at this single game

so only wc3 is having issue?have u check in nvidia control panel and check if everything is set for high performance for wc3?
