Hi
Ive heard about the gtx 1070 Vrm overheating issue
I have purchased one recently from a third party on amazon i wonder if the fact that i got the BLACK EDITION and so that it has no backplate means it does not apply to my card
I wonder if my card would run cooler since it has no backplate and also my main question is if the card is still worth it with all these issues

With this video card(or any for that matter), make sure it's in a case that gives it enough ventilation & do not attach any peripherals right next to it that will block the fan(s). That and if you regularly play games on high settings, I'd recommend also upgrading the thermal paste on the card to something that's better quality(such as grizzly kryonaut).

In all my years of gaming, including very very hot cards like GTX470/580's i've never had to change the thermal paste. Also refer to the thermal paste review, there is not much between the worst and the best, only 2-3C, so it will not solve a problem of a card being hot, especially not a card like a 1070 which has not had time for the thermal paste to 'fail' which it rarely does anyway.

But is the card worth it with these reported issues? I also have a gtx 1070 mini from zotac. Is the superclocked a better choice over the mini even though it is said to have up to 106 c in vrm temps and evga has updated the bios to spin the fans faster but has rendered the noise to double the original
