Hello,

So yesterday I was using my computer when all the sudden it shut down and the red light on my corsair ax1200i came on, tried booting and the red light came on every time. I unplugged all cables from the PSU and tried doing a self test and the green light came on. I once again replugged all cables and once again the red light. I unfortunately do not have a spare PSU to test with.

Just wondering what you guys think the issue is?

My setup is as follows

MSI Gaming 5 motherboard (going asus from now on)
i7 4790k
Corsair ax1200i
Corsair 1600 mhz ram
EVGA 1080 ti

Thanks for all help

guess it depends if any damage was done by using a tad of force lol

but yeah could have damaged the board

Haha well I used to have sli 980s, and I was taking the secondary card and the release switch on the pci slot wouldn't flip.. so I couldn't get the gpu out by any means. Tried for around 20 minutes to get the slot to release the card and it wouldn't so I had to use a tad of force and unfortunately broke the slot which is why I won't buy an msi motherboard again. Anyway, do you think theres any chance the motherboard could be failing or its most likely a faulty power supply?

Well the slot itself is gone but motherboard continued to work for well over a month afterwards until yesterday. Seems odd how psu passes self test when plugged into the wall, but not when hooked up. Would the red light come on if there was something wrong with the motherboard?
