Okay, so this issue has been plaguing me for a little while. I would say I've officially run out of talent when it comes to troubleshooting it - I would love some advice or help.

The issue is as follows:

When playing games, most notably GTA5 and Rainbow 6: Siege, after anywhere between 1 minute to 1 hour, the system hangs/freezes, and becomes unresponsive to all input. Sometimes I can wait it out and it will crash to desktop, other times it will need full system reset to get going again.

I have tried a number of different solutions, listed with the outcome of the test.

1) Cleaned out inside of PC. | Issue persists.
2) Swapped out GPU for known good one. | Issue persists.
3) Swapped out RAM for known good. | Issue persists.
3) Swapped out PSU for known good one. | Issue persists.
4) Reinstall games. | Issue persists.
5) Reinstall Windows 10. | Issue persists.
6) Replaced OS with Windows 7. | Issue worsens - crashes happen quicker and get BSOD after a few minutes of freezing.

Monitored internal temps before and during crash, no component gets hotter than 70 degrees C.
Everything running the latest drivers.

System specs

AMD FX 8350
Asus M5A78L-M/USB3
EVGA Nvidia Geforce 760 OC
8GB DDR3 RAM
600W Corsair PSU
Windows 10/Windows 7 (see above)

Any other info I will be happy to provide, I'm completely stumped but I imagine a fresh set of eyes might help.

Any help is appreciated!

The M5A78L-M/USB3 is a no-no with an FX-8350. The 4+1 VRMs are not enough for that CPU. And 70c is too hot.

You are never going to get it to game right with that motherboard. Basically it was holding on for dear life before, now it won't.

Win 10 was an upgrade from 8.1 originally bought from MS. Win 7 is from an older disc I dug out, product key worked so I didn't complain.

Okay, did not know that. I'll run prime95 and see what happens.
