Hello Everyone!

I am working on a new micro ATX build for a friend. She is adamant about the the case she wants, because of the color and shape/size. Everything else can be changed.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Approximate Purchase Date: As soon as the part list is finalized.

Budget Range: $600 at time of purchase, she wants me to go as cheap as possible though.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Editing Photos, Gaming, Editing Music, Listening to Music, Watching Movies, Browsing the Web, School work.

Are you buying a monitor: No.

Parts to Upgrade: Everything - brand new build.

Do you need to buy OS: Yes, Windows 10 on a student discount I believe.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Amazon, Newegg.

Location: San Luis Obispo, CA.

Parts Preferences: Intel, Nvidia supposedly she has had problems with AMD in the past.

Overclocking: No.

SLI or Crossfire: No.

Your Monitor Resolution: Not sure.

Additional Comments: Frequently used programs include Photoshop, Audacity, Steam (Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress, Killing Floor 1/2, Dead Rising 1-4, Path of Exile, DIablo 3, Burnout Paradise, GTA V, Ark Survival Evolved etc.), Chrome, VLC, Microsoft Office.

Current parts picked out:
MOBO: Not selected

CPU: Intel - Pentium G4560 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor

Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

RAM: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ARHBBPS/?tag=pcpapi-20

HDD: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

GPU: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1050 2GB ACX 2.0 Video Card
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M9FD3PC/?tag=pcpapi-20

PSU: EVGA - 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H33SFJU/?tag=pcpapi-20

KB: Razer - BlackWidow Ultimate 2016 Wired Standard Keyboard
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0163H5F30/?tag=pcpapi-20

Mouse: Razer - DeathAdder Elite Wired Optical Mouse
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXC1QL0/?tag=pcpapi-20

The mouse and keyboard will most likely be changed. The only reason she wants those is she saw them and loves green. I'm sure I can find another green lit mouse or keyboard from a lesser known brand for a lot cheaper.

I'm not familiar with mATX motherboards at all so I did some searching, but not sure which to pick in terms of not cutting corners because I believe you get what you pay for, but trying to keep the build cheap.

Anyway thanks again for anyone's assistance!

Thanks for the swift replies guys.

I realize now that in my haste I didn't put prices on anything, total it, put a link for the HDD, or put the case at all! So apologies for all of that.

Here is the case she wants:
BitFenix Micro ATX, Mini-ITX Motherboard Cases BFC-PRM-300-GGWKK-RP Green
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00T2WIRDY/ref=twister_B00T5K09T8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
$84

When I get off work I will look at both of your lists. I really appreciate the help.

You need to spend where it matters the most like your cpu and gpu. Getting a $84 cpu with a $84 case is not going to last you too long. The build has to be balanced enough to give you performance first before anything else. Putting a rolls royce engine inside a fighter jet aint gonna make it work.

Considering the aesthetics, here is a build :
