Cpu Temp error and system wide lag

Hello, so I have a custom built desktop that was running as smooth as butter until very recently. First issue was an American Megatrends Cpu Temperature warning everytime the computer boots up. It will say my temps are like beyond this world high.

computer specs:
Intel core i7 2600@3.4 GHz
Asus P8P67 Pro Rev 3.1 Mobo
Nvidia Geforce GTX760
12Gb RAM

After these bootup messages started occurring, there has been a marked decrease in system performance i.e. Lag, lag, lag. Games run at 2-15FPS if at all.

I replaced the PSU and hard drive in hopes that it was the problem, but the lag persists. The PSU is a corsair cx750m 80 plus bronze yada yada. I replaced an offmarket psu that had begun sounding like a jet turbine. I also recently reapplied thermal paste in hopes that it would eliminate the temperature error. The cpu usage is also out of wack.

Could it be my cpu fan? It is the stock intel one.

Solution
I'd say it's the fan, 100c is the shutdown temp for that CPU I believe (might be 105) but either way you're well above the throttle temp. Buy a new CPU cooler. Something like the 212evo is cheap and could be used in a new build.
