What gaming laptop should i get? An MSI, Asus or HP? They all cost roughly 2 grand. The MSI and Asus have roughly the same specs, which are better than the HP. However the reviews for the Asus say it has issues with heat management, and I can't find many reviews for the MSI, but MSI's seem to have issues with thermal management also. I can't find many reviews for the HP, but HP omen customers seem to generally have more positive reviews for their higher end laptops, HP seems to do a good job designing them from a thermal standpoint. Additionally the Asus has gysnc, unlike the MSI, but I think I want a laptop with optimus technology for better battery life/quieter performance, and gsync isn't compatible with optimus.

Laptops usually have really bad cooling, and you can get a 1070 build for around $1200 range, excluding monitor, say $200 for 1440p monitor, and $100 for keyboard, mouse, and mouse mat/pad. Then you have a great gaming...

for me its between the msi and ROG
the ROG has more SSD which is really nice
but the msi has G-sync which will really improve the display quality

do you care for aesthetics? because the MSI looks bad-ass in my opinion

Mostly light duty use. I game occasionally though, and Keep my computers for 5-7 years so I want it to be capable during that time.

Do you need it to be portable? Because you could get a desktop for half the price.

I prefer to have the option of portability, although i mostly use it as a desktop replacement. Besides a 1070 desktop with similar specs seems to cost around the same - 2 grand.

Then you have a great gaming computer, a full keyboard and mouse, upgradablity, no overheating laptops, a amazing IPS 4ms 1440p monitor. Just my opinion on what you should buy.

The laptops also have downgraded components to cope with the cooling, that is also something they do, the m models of Graphics cards are also not as good.
