Sound card differences

I've had a new computer built. The motherboard, supposedly, supports 5.1 sound (I have a Soundblaster surround system) but there are only three slots on the back whereas my old computer had five. And the colours of the are different. What's the difference?

For 5.1 Surround sound system you need 3 jacks
your old board must be 8CH thats why it has more ports you wont feel any difference mostly all onboard audio are same
